The Photos You’ll Treasure 20 Years From Now From A Texas Wedding Photographer

Let’s be real shall we… Twenty years from now, you may not remember every single tiny detail. You may forget exactly how the day unfolded on your wedding day. You may even forget what was served during cocktail hour to your guests or what the table arrangements looked like, but you’ll have photographs that bring you right back to how it all felt.

Here are a few things you should take into account that you would want your wedding portraits to look like years from now.

1. The way your spouse looks at you

Not just the “perfect” portrait moments, but those little glances throughout the entire day.

2. Your family seeing you for the very first time

The emotional reactions, the hugs, tears, and quiet moments that become even more meaningful with time.

3. The people who are in your life right now

Remembering their faces, their smiles or silliness like your grandparents, siblings, friends, and family members all together—especially the people who may not always be around years later.

4. The in-betweens

Cutting up with your bridesmaids, someone dear to you fixing your veil, your soon to be spouse waiting for your entrance at the altar, sneaking away together for a quiet moment right after ceremony to take it all in.

5. The details you meticulously worked so hard on

A true representation of the floral color palette and design aesthetic you were drawn to as well as your rings, your invitations, heirloom pieces, dress, shoes, and all the little pieces that tell the story of your wedding day.

6. The photographs of just the two of you smiling at the camera

These are important, because they document who you were together at that exact point in your marriage. These photos show you smiling happy at the camera together for mom and pop, but also for your future children and grandchildren are essential.

7. The moments that are simply imperfect, but turn out to be perfect

Wind blowing your veil as you walk with your spouse. Happy tears flowing at the altar or just because. A little chaos during your reception party. Laughing so hard you can’t pose. Those moments often become some of the most cherished because they’re real.

One of the many ways we can remember it all is by printing out our memories. Allowing them to relive in our homes. Printing them allows us to remember they even existed. Displaying them as beautiful wall art or better yet in a beautiful keepsake wedding album on our coffee table to look back on when we’re snuggled in on a Friday evening with no plans is the best nostalgia feeling. The beautiful thing is your album, your memories and even a few prints will be passed down generations from now.

Your wedding photos aren’t for just today. Your wedding day deserves to be remembered as it truly was. True-to-color imagery, timeless editing, and photographs that aren’t influenced by passing trends that come and go—so when you look back 20 years from now, you see your day, not a style from a certain era. Instead, they are for the version of you that will look through many years from now. If you’re dreaming of wedding photos that preserve more than just how your day looked—but how it overall felt—I’d love to be there to document it all for you. From the big moments to the quiet in-betweens, your story deserves to be remembered for generations. Timeless isn’t a trend. It’s the ultimate goal.
